  • Tyler Feld (he/him)

    FOUNDER/BOARD CHAIR

Tyler’s love of the outdoors began from early childhood experiences exploring the oak woodlands of Southern California and the pine forests of the Sierra Nevadas. As a teenager with a career goal to “protect the trees,” he pursued a B.A. Environmental Studies from UC Santa Cruz. Following his degree, Tyler has spent his professional career connecting others with nature through outdoor education, community based habitat restoration, and working to expand access to nature. He hopes to bring this to Branching Out Adventures by working to make nature more accessible to members of the queer community!

  • Jaclyn Schneider (she/her)

    BOARD TREASURER

Meet Jaclyn, a passionate marine ecologist and outdoor educator, weaving her love for nature into every aspect of her life. With the foundation of a B.S. in Marine Biology from Cal Poly Humboldt, Jaclyn's journey has been a tapestry of exploration and advocacy. From delving into the intricacies of marine ecosystems through research to empowering youth through outdoor education and community science, she's dedicated herself to breaking down barriers and ensuring equitable access for all in nature and science.

As the Board Treasurer at Branching Out Adventures, Jaclyn brings her expertise in accounting and program budget management to the forefront. With an unwavering commitment to inclusivity, she aims to continue to create outdoor opportunities where everyone feels welcomed and empowered.

  • Laurel Wee (she/her)

    BOARD SECRETARY

Laurel's journey towards environmental stewardship began with childhood adventures exploring the wonders of nature. Fueled by a desire to make a positive impact on the environment and facilitate connections between people and the natural world, she earned degrees in Environmental Studies and Biology from UC Santa Cruz, and a Master's in Environmental Science and Management from UC Santa Barbara's Bren School.

From her involvement in environmental education to her research on park planning and resource stewardship, Laurel has consistently sought opportunities to advocate for environmental awareness and accessibility to nature. As a board member of Branching Out Adventures, she's committed to celebrating queerness through community, education, and outdoor connection, leveraging her expertise in communications and development to make nature more inclusive for all.

  • Joe Rogers (he/him)

    BOARD MEMBER

Joe has been a fan of the outdoors from very early childhood. From making mud pies in the garden in his parents' backyard to exploring tide pools on the California coast and trails and campgrounds in the Sierra Nevada mountains, these experiences helped mold him into a person who is deeply passionate about the natural world and the ways in which we protect it. Joe followed that curiosity to a B.S. in Wildlife, Fish, and Conservation Biology from UC Davis and a nearly 10-year career in informal education and interpretation - largely with California State Parks.

Joe now works in Digital Accessibility, but is still passionate about the ways in which outdoor spaces can bring people together. As a Board Member, he's committed to creating spaces for queer people to create connections within themselves, with their community, and with the natural world.iption goes here
