Queer Hike with Save Mount Diablo
Save Mount Diablo and Branching Out Adventures are partnering up to invite all members of the LGBTQIA+ community on this queer themed hike! Allies are welcome to attend with their LGBTQIA+ community members. .
Queerness is everywhere in our natural world. Join us on a nature walk in Mitchell Canyon to learn about the queer plants and animals found on Mount Diablo. We’ll also be on the lookout for the gentle giants of Mount Diablo, the North American tarantulas, and another one of Mount Diablo’s arachnids – scorpions!
Saturday October 18th 9:00am to 12:00pm, Mount Diablo State Park
Queer Night Hike - Monte Bello Open Space
Join other members of our queer community in a night hike in the spirit of Halloween, but queer!! We'll go for a sunset and night hike at a preserve with stars, bats, and all sorts of critters! Participants can expect to walk up to three miles, in dark conditions. A specific plan for our route can be found here.

Queer Sunrise Birding - Ravenswood Open Space
Join other members of our queer community for a sunrise walk to look for birds!! With bird activity peaking in the early morning hours, it will be a unique opportunity to witness spectacular shorebirds along the San Francisco Bay.
Participants can expect to walk up to three miles, in cool and dark conditions on a flat, paved path.
